Landmarks Gallery Restoration Department will give new life to your works of art by preserving the value and beauty of your favorite artwork. Paintings, watercolors, photographs, prints and frames can be restored. Metal works can also be brought in for buffing and repair

Paper -

  • Yellowed paper/acid burn/cardboard and wood burn can be cleaned/deacidified.
  • Tears can be patched.
  • Tape- Can be removed

 

  • Color can be replaced/touched up

  • Fumigated to remove molding

Photos-

  • Fading, creases, scratches, burns, mildew and can be cleaned and color restored.
  • Holes and tears can be filled in and corrected

 

 

  • Objects and color can be added or removed
  • Matte, Glossy, and Giclee prints can be made from negatives, photos, slides, transparences, original artwork and antique photographs

Oils and Acrylics-

  • Stains or spots can be cleaned.
  • Holes and tears patched and corrected.
  • Canvases lined to stop flaking or cracking of paint.
  • Paint loss replaced with Conservation paints
  • Revarnished with a non-yellowing conservation varnish.

  • Buffing and repair can be done on brass, copper, silver, pewter and stainless steal

Landmarks Gallery has a fully staffed Restoration Department with a full-time professional on site.

Monica has a BFA in Art History and Painting. She apprenticed for art restoration and has continued to work here since 2000. Her work here has ranged from 18th century to 21st century art and documents.

Monica has also done several public restoration demonstrations and lectures including WI Turp n' Stein annual luncheon in 2004 where she was the guest speaker, the Atlantic City Antique show in 2006 where she was a guest, and the Fox Valley Antique show in 2007 where she was also a guest. Besides services here in the gallery she has also done on site work for museums, historical societies, hotels, collectors, and antique art dealers.
