Tony Bennett, Singer-artist, left his heart in San Francisco, but his prints of “The South of France” autographed Tony Bennett Benedetto in the margin, are at Landmarks Gallery. The eighteen by twenty-four inch image is from an original painting by the artist. Supply is limited. “Duets II” a new album by Bennett will be released Sept. 20th, 2011. It includes 17 performers among them Andrea Bocelli, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin and the late Amy Winehouse. |
Exhibit and Sale of Prints from the Hamilton Wood Type Museum Opening November 18th |
Restrikes and new collages will be exhibited and for sale. In recent years the interest in letterpress and typography has become a major interest among collectors. These colorful prints are struck from vintage woodblocks owned by the Hamilton Wood Type Museum. The Hamilton, a working print shop and museum, was established in 1880. The Hamilton excelled in the production of wood type used for advertising, political, newspaper, and carnival posters. Sizes will vary.
